Year 5 had an amazing day of canoeing, climbing and ziplining this week.
Caught Reading!
After choosing out 10 tickets from our 'Got caught reading' winners last week, the ten were taken for a treat at Book, Bean and Icecream in Kirkham. As year is the National Year of Reading, a book treat to take home was also chosen by our winners.
Youth games week - Golf Winners!
Youth Games week kicked off with Handball and Golf. Well done to our golf team who won the event, securing tickets to The Open!
Grundy Art Gallery
This week saw Holy Family return to the Grundy Art Gallery to view an original Monet painting! Wow! In addition to this we also participated in creating our own art, which will also be displayed in the Gallery over the coming months.
PC Ben teaches HRSE
In line with our British Values commitment, PC Ben has visited both Year 5 and 6 to teach us about being safe online and how to be upstanding citzens!
Year 6 residential
Year 6 had the time of their lives last week as they visited Water Park at Coniston. Ghyll scrambling, sailing, canoeing, journey day, team building, rope climbing, you name it! A fantastic time was had by all.
Easter house challenge
This week also saw the eipc house challenges take place: sing-a-long with Miss Mallinson, Egg shoot-out and Easter quiz!
Mothers' Day Crafting with Year 1
Thank you to all the Mums, Nanas and other special ladies who joined us for the special Mothers' Day event.
Nature Sessions
Year 1 have been getting really stuck (in the mud) into their learning this term. They are enjoying weekly nature sessions and learning outside!
Parliamentary visit
This morning, we had a visit from Rachael at Parliamentary outreach, building on our previous visit from Chris Webb MP. Rachael held and assembly for all Juniors about parliament and year 6 went on to enjoy a workshop of voting and elections.
Singing at Pennystone Court
Our year 5 and 6 children went to sing for the residents of Pennystone Court, spreading a little Christmas cheer.
