Holy Family School Uniform Policy

Holy Family children are encouraged to take pride in a smart appearance when they are in school. We ask that parents/carers support school in maintaining high standards of uniform and appearance for all pupils and follow the guidance below.

SKIRT/TROUSERS - Grey skirt or trousers. During the summer term a blue and white summer dress may be worn with a cardigan. Grey shorts may also be worn.

SWEATSHIRT - Royal blue with school logo.  This item needs to be purchased from Bispham Clothing Company or Uniform and Leisure. There is a jumper and cardigan version of the school sweatshirt.

SOCKS - Grey, black or white. No over the knee socks.  Pupils may also wear tights (grey, black or white)

COAT - A warm, waterproof coat is needed by all pupils every school day. In winter your children need to be well wrapped up as we get the wind from the sea sweeping across our play areas. Hats, gloves and scarves may also be worn (please ensure that these are named). Children in Year 4 need to bring a coat for travelling to and from the swimming pool on Thursday.

HAIR - Children to maintain natural hair colour. No excessive styles, shaved heads (as a general guide a “Number 2” is the shortest permissible cut), no shaved lines, steps, mohicans etc. No coloured hair braids/hair jewellery/hair extensions.

For hygiene and/or safety reasons long hair must be tied back with a plain bobble or headband. Any ribbons should be in school colours.

MAKEUP – No makeup should be worn. No nail varnish should be seen.

JEWELLERY – small silver/gold stud earrings only. A watch may be worn.

We encourage ear-piercing to be done at the start of the summer holidays so that children are able to remove their studs for PE reasons by the start of the year.

BAGS – Book bags are available from the uniform suppliers however, children may use their own rucksack/bag from year 4.

PE - PE kit (Years 1 to 6) consists of school track suit, a white T-shirt with the school logo and plain, white or black coloured trainers. Non branded, black tracksuit bottoms/leggings and plain white t-shirts are also acceptable.

This must be worn, instead of uniform, on PE days.  Indoor PE is done in bare feet. PE kit is not necessary for children in EYFS.

Children may not wear jewellery during PE lessons.  This also applies to earrings but if a child has had their ears pierced recently they will be allowed to cover the earrings with micropore for a limited period of time. If a child wears earrings to school they must be able to remove them.

EVERY ITEM OF UNIFORM AND ALL PERSONAL BELONGINGS MUST BE CLEARLY LABELLED.  CHILDREN MUST TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR OWN THINGS. STAFF WILL NOT BE EXPECTED TO SEARCH FOR PUPILS’ LOST EQUIPMENT, ITEMS OF CLOTHING ETC

Second-hand Uniform

We are always grateful for donations of clean uniform in a good condition that another family may need.

If you have any jumpers, cardigans, skirts, shorts, trousers, t-shirts or PE kit items, please bring them in to the school office.

We aim to have a 'good-as-new' rail available to parents at various times of the year to help any families that might need some extra uniform.
