Prayer and liturgy are at the heart of community life at Holy Family and they are essential to the mission of our school, and the moral and spiritual development of our children. Opportunities for both prayer and liturgy in school takes several forms, such as weekly Mass with Father Burns, classroom prayer, assemblies, devotions, special services for times in the school year, whole school celebrations of Mass and the Sacrament of Reconciliation. We have taken pilgrimages to the Ladyewell shrine as well as visiting the relics of St. Bernadette. Children experience a breadth of Catholic traditions within a welcoming environment that respects the integrity of all and seeks to strengthen their spiritual heritage.
Those wishing to take their first Holy Communion are welcomed to do so in Year 4, where preparation lessons are held by our Church Catechists.
The Wednesday Word
Every Wednesday we send home a digital copy of the Wednesday Word to each family, to help all school families draw closer to God, to the Church and to each other.
The weekly delivery of The Wednesday Word to our families is a gentle, regular invitation to Sunday Mass throughout the time families are connected to the life of the school.
